Terry Patterson Killed in Athens Motorcycle Accident; Justice Available to Family?

Athens News

A fatal Athens motorcycle accident tragically claimed the life of 31-year-old Terry Patterson, of Norcross, Saturday, January 7, 2019.

According to The AJC, Mr. Patterson “was driving on Oak Street around 10 p.m. when he crashed into the side of an SUV that was pulling out of Kent Street.” Mr. Patterson was transported to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to fatal injuries.

Police told WGAU the “SUV driver was not injured and will not face charges.”

Our Legal Take

As the details of this tragedy continue to develop, the family of Terry Patterson may elect to file civil claims for his wrongful death.  Based upon its experience and success handling pedestrian claims in Georgia, The Murray Law Firm suggests that the Bellamy family should retain an experienced personal injury firm to protect their interests and ensure an unbiased investigation. Photographs of the roadways involved and a review of surveillance footage from nearby businesses or properties, if any exists, will need to be performed immediately before any evidence is damaged or destroyed.
