Our Legal Take
As the details of this tragedy continue to develop, and if the SUV driver is found to be at fault, the families of Ms. McChargue and Mr. Blankenship may elect to file civil claims in their wrongful deaths. Such claims will serve as a grave reminder to all Georgia drivers of the critical need to end distracted driving and to share our roadways with drivers of mopeds and motorcycles.
Based upon its experience and success handling motor vehicle claims in Georgia, The Murray Law Firm suggests that the McChargue and Blankenship families should retain an experienced personal injury firm to protect their interests and ensure an unbiased investigation. Photographs of the vehicles and roadways involved and a review of traffic surveillance footage will need to be performed immediately before any evidence is damaged or destroyed.
