A motor vehicle accident tragically claimed the life of Jacob Butts, 15, Sunday night, February 3, 2019 according to published reports.
FirstCoastNews.com reports that Jacob Butts was struck by a driver who left the scene and “was [later] involved in a [second] crash at around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Baumgardner Road and U.S. Highway 82.” The news organization reports that investigating authorities determined that “[the driver] was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested…[with] a blood alcohol level of 0.22.” WSAV.com is reporting that “Jacob Butts [was]…a student at Glynn Academy. ”
In addition to being charged with driving under the influence “added charges of vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident causing death” were issued, according to news4jax.com.
