A motor vehicle accident involving a log truck and one vehicle in Macon County, Georgia Monday evening, April 4, 2020, fatally injured one woman.

As reported by 13WMAZ.com, “[a] Montezuma woman died Monday after being hit by a log truck in Macon County…the accident happened around 6 p.m. on Georgia Highway 80.”

According to the report, “a Mack Truck…was going south on the highway when he approached a red light at Travelers Rest Road. Belinda Woods, 68, was driving her Acura Integra east on Travelers Rest Road when she approached the intersection.”

Per the report, [the truck driver] then hit the driver’s side door of  [Belinda]Woods’ car with the front of his truck.”

According to the media report, “[Belinda] Woods was airlifted to the Medical Center in Macon” but was sadly unable top recover from her injuries.

The accident investigation is ongoing.

A motor vehicle accident involving three vehicles in Athens, Georgia Saturday afternoon, May 2, 2020, caused the loss of one woman and injured multiple others.

As reported by WaltonTribune.com, “Athens-Clarke County police officers responded to a crash at Jefferson River Road at South Ridge Drive at about 5 p.m.”

According to the report, “a 1991 Chevrolet Caprice pulled into the path of a northbound 2004 Ford F-150, causing a collision…[t]he truck slid and the driver lost control. The truck and a 2019 Toyota RAV4 collided.”

WaltonTribune is reporting, “a passenger in the Toyota was seriously hurt. She was taken to a Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center,” but was sadly unable to recover from her injuries.  She has been by The Tribune and ClassicCityNews.com “identified as 79-year-old Violet Sprinkles of Nicholson.” Additionally, “Brenda Pettus, 53, of Nicholson was driving the Toyota…[and] also sustained serious injuries.”

AccessWDUN.com is reporting, “[t]he driver of the [Ford] truck, identified as Kevin Cruell of Athens and his passenger, Samantha Jordan of Hull, were [also] both injured.”

The crash investigation is ongoing.

A motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles in Douglasville, Georgia Thursday, April 2, 2020, caused the loss of one driver and injured a toddler.

As reported by AJC.com, “[t]he crash took place about 5 p.m. on Riverside Parkway near Roberts Road. The incident killed Katelyn Keith, 22, of Lithia Springs, whose young child was in the backseat of her vehicle during the wreck. The child, 1-year-old Zion Keith, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

According to the report, “[a driver] is accused of using his cellphone during the wreck and crossing the center line and turn lane, crashing head-on into [Katelyn] Keith’s car.”

Patch.com is reporting, the driver was charged with “felony vehicular homicide, reckless driving, failure to use due care and failure to maintain lane in the accident.”

According to the media reports, a GoFundMe page has been set up for the toddler.
