College Park, GA – A motor vehicle pedestrian accident Thursday afternoon, June 4, 2026, tragically left one man fatally injured and one other critically injured.
As reported by AtlantaNewsFirst.com, “[t]he crash happened near Virginia Avenue and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. College Park police said officers responded to the crash around 3 p.m. and found two people who had been hit. Georgia State Patrol (GSP) said the victims were landscape workers.”
According to the report, “[t]he workers were in the grass near the ramps to North Inner Loop Road when a Chevrolet Malibu left the roadway, hit the pair and drove away…A man who identified himself as the Malibu’s driver later returned to the scene and was arrested.”
Fox5Atlanta.com is reporting, “[b]oth workers were rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where one worker died from his injuries and the other remains in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.”
According to WSBtv.com, “[t]he Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the worker who died as 37-year-old Celestino Pora-Carrillo.”
The fatal collision is under investigation.
