Augusta, GA – Gunfire rang out at an apartment complex Thursday night, May 22, 2025, leaving one man dead and another injured.

As reported by WJBF.com, “officers responded to a shooting on Thursday, May 22nd at around 10:28 P.M. at [local] Apartments on the 100 block of Integrity Drive. Officers say when they arrived, they located two individuals with apparent gunshot wounds.”

WRDW.com is reporting, “[t]he Richmond County Coroner’s Office says 28-year-old Kameron Mason was killed in the shooting…The second victim was transported to Wellstar for treatment.”

According to TheAugustaPress.com, “[s]ome witnesses at the scene told investigators that the shooting may have stemmed from an altercation involving a group of individuals who refused to leave the complex’s pool area. Residents noted that unauthorized use of the pool by non-residents has been a recurring issue, often prompting calls to law enforcement.”

The investigation is ongoing.
