Could this senseless loss of life have been prevented are justice and compensation available to Richard Boatner’s family?

Security measures are under scrutiny after a Rome motel shooting tragically claimed the life of 35-year-old Richard Boatner Tuesday night, December 11, 2018.

According to The AJC, gunfire erupted in the parking lot of the “[an] Inn on Martha Berry Boulevard about 9:40 p.m.” Mr. Boatner was transported to Floyd Medical Center, where he succumbed to fatal injuries. Police told media they have since identified a suspect.

The motel was the apparent location of an assault investigation in October, per Rome News-Tribune reports.

Gunfire erupted at an Athens apartment complex Monday, December 10, 2018, tragically claiming the life of 31-year-old Walter James Brown Jr.

According to the Athens Banner-Herald, officers responded to the “Oak Hill Apartments…between Fourth Street and Old Hull Road,” around 8:40 p.m. Mr. Brown was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. He was transported to the hospital, where he succumbed to fatal injuries.

Police told The AJC, they have made one arrest in connection with the shooting and are now searching for a second suspect.

Gunfire erupted at a Lilburn motel Wednesday morning, December 12, 2018, tragically claiming the life of 28-year-old Darius Daniels.

Police told The AJC, the shooting occurred at “the Home Stay Suites in the 4300 block of U.S. 78 about 4 a.m.” Tragically, Mr. Daniels succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene.

WSB-TV 2 reports, this “is not the first shooting at the motel and another happened just 48 hours earlier.” The incidents raise grave questions over security measures at the motel.
