A shooting at the River Glen apartment complex reportedly left one person injured Tuesday evening, October 11, 2016.

According to WRDW News 12, the shooting occurred at the “River Glen apartment complex in Augusta.” One person was apparently “shot in the leg.” The victim’s current condition has not been released.

Neighbors held a prayer rally for peace following three homicides at the same apartment complex in 2012, The Augusta Chronicle reports. Sadly, it appears the violence has continued, including a robbery-shooting in October 2015, per WRDW reports.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that a woman was horrifically assaulted after being abducted outside a Lithonia Bojangles restaurant Monday, September 26, 2016. The AJC reports, “a 34-year-old homeless man is accused of abducting the victim Saturday from Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits at 2695 Panola Road and forcing her to drive to a parking lot outside the Indian Creek MARTA Station.” The assailant reportedly “brandish[ed] a knife and [told] her that if she did everything he told her to do, she would live to see her children” according to the AJC report.

A parking lot shooting outside a Marietta restaurant reportedly claimed the life of 48-year-old Anthony Welch and left his wife, Cynthia, injured Friday night, October 7, 2016.

According to WSB-TV 2, “officers responded to the scene outside the Pappadeaux restaurant in the 2700 block of Windy Hill Road,” shortly after 10:00 p.m. Anthony and Cynthia Welch “were walking to their car from inside the restaurant when they were approached by a man,” WSBTV reports. The assailant apparently opened fire, fatally striking Mr. Welch and injuring Mrs. Welch, before fleeing the scene.
