A motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle left one person dead and another injured Thursday evening, June 13, 2019.

According to MSGR.com, “a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle was being driven by Charles Bailey eastbound on the Sparta Highway/GA16 around 4:15 p.m., with Bailey’s wife, Rita, as passenger.”  At the same time “a 2003 Chevy Tahoe…was heading west, and was attempting to turn from Hwy. 16 onto Pea Ridge Road.”  According to the report, “[Charles] Bailey’s motorcycle hit the front right side of the Tahoe as it was turning.”  Mr. Bailey’s life was tragically lost in this incident, and the passenger on the motorcycle was flown by medical helicopter to Navicent Health Medical Center hospital in Macon, in serious condition, according to MSGR.com.

The accident is under investigation by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.

An accident involving a vehicle injured a child pedestrian Thursday, May 30, 2019. According to AJC.com, “[t]he incident happened about 6:20 p.m. Thursday on Rockbridge Road near Rays Road, DeKalb County.”  The news story reports, “[a] child riding a scooter was hit by a car…and was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.”  The driver of the vehicle did stay on the scene and an investigation is ongoing according to the report.

According to 11Alive.com, “the accident happened in the area of Columbia Drive and Peachcrest Road.”  Per the report, officials are unsure if the children were in the roadway or alongside the road when the incident happened.  According to the report the children are stable.

The accident remains under investigation.
