A motor vehicle accident in Liberty County, Georgia Monday night, May 18, 2020, caused multiple fatalities and injured one other person.

As reported by, “[t]he wreck happened just before 11 p.m. Monday night on East Oglethorpe Highway near Liberty County High School.”

According to the report, “[f]irst responders got the call that two cars had wrecked. Upon arrival, they found a car and a pickup truck that both had serious damage. They also found that a semi ran off the road.” is reporting, “[a man] was driving a Dodge Dakota pickup truck westbound in the eastbound lane of East Olgethorpe Highway when he struck a Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 25-year-old Fort Stewart soldier…Both [the man] and the soldier were killed in the collision.”

Per the report, “[a] passenger in the soldier’s vehicle was taken to Memorial Hospital in Savannah where their condition is unknown.”

The crash investigation is ongoing.
