A motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle and a tractor-trailer injured a teen driver Tuesday morning, April 2, 2019.

According to WTOC.com, “at around 6:45 a.m., a 17-year-old female was driving a Hyundai Accent southbound in the left lane of Dean Forest Road approaching Pine Meadow Drive. At the same time, a Freightliner with a fully loaded container trailer, made a left turn across Dean Forest Road in an attempt to travel north.” According to that report, “[t]he teenage driver of the Hyundai was unable to avoid striking the rear tandems of the trailer, which had not yet cleared the southbound lanes of Dean Forest Road.”  WSAV.com is reporting the identity of the driver of the Hyundai as “17-year-old Alyssa Strickling.”

Our Legal Take

As the details of this tragedy continue to develop, and if the operator of the tractor trailer is deemed to be at fault in causing the accident, Alyssa Strickling may elect to seek justice and file a civil claim for her injuries.  Based upon its extensive experience and success handling these types of motor vehicle claims in Georgia, The Murray Law Firm suggests that Alyssa Strickling should retain an experienced personal injury firm to protect their interests and ensure an unbiased investigation. Photographs of the roadways and vehicles involved and a review of surveillance footage from nearby businesses or properties, if any exists, will need to be performed immediately before any evidence is damaged or destroyed.
